Do you still have a bike in you garage which you haven't used for years? Well now it's summer there is no better way of losing those excess 10 pounds or so than getting out on your bike. This is why...
Now you have realised it's time to lose weight. Most women do when they start to see that things have got out hand at some point of their lives and we all dream of wearing those sexy outfits that used to drive our lovers wild. We yearn for the day when we can once again walk out in the street and we are the ones that others are admiring from a far as you walk down the street with new found confidence.
A great initial goal to set for yourself when trying to lose weight is to try and lose 10 pounds. This should be an attainable goal for almost anyone and it should not be that hard to see results pretty quickly at worse a few weeks and at best less than 2-3 weeks. You should not consider trying to lose weight any faster than this through fad diets as the weight will just come back when you stop dieting.
So where do you start? Most people, when they think of weight loss, think of unappetizing diets ( who could enjoy a diet of cabbage soup for example) or strenuous exercise regimens (you don't want to become a Navy Seal do you?), but it doesn't have to be that way.
Lets imagine it could be possible to lose 10 pounds or so without all that pain. Wouldn't that be a great idea? Well you can when you start bicycling or you might prefer to call it bike riding.
There are lots of reasons to go bike riding but maybe the main one is something you would just take for granted that is a bike is a method of transport. This important because the biggest single reason people fail at losing weight is they can't plan their exercise routines in to their already busy lifestyle.
So finally you have made a commitment to go to the gym every day and get a gym membership at the local gym. Great idea and I am pleased you made the commitment but this is what I find happens with most people. It's Friday morning an a friend calls and asks you out for a drink but it's your gym night (never mind always tomorrow and you skip the gym) .Then one of the kids wants you to take them to football practice or swimming (never mind another time and you skip going to the gym). See what I mean?
In a few weeks you find going to the gym is just impossible to schedule with all your other commitments so you decide it's not really worth all the bother.
Just for now lets imagine as an alternative to a gym membership you decide to go out an buy a bike or get yor old one repaired if you had one in the garage gathering dust. By using it to ma ybe bike to work you'll so start to lose weight and even save on gas.Pretty neat huh?
If you live in the city chances are it will only take you a few extra minutes compared with travelling by car or subway. So you get a full body work out for free and it fits in to your schedule just great.
Funny thing is with most forms of exercise all you get is just that exercise. But when bike riding you get exercise and also get to where you need to be be. That's not of course considering it's good for the environment, saves you money and can be good fun. It's hard to see many negatives to biking as a form of exercise.
Amazingly just riding your bike to work and back every day you will quickly lose 10 pounds and it won't interfere with your daily routine. If it's not possible to use your bike for work why not use it for running errands. If you want to lose 10 pounds even quicker then why not try bike riding for fun may be with the family at weekends. You'll soon cover several miles and the weight will just drop of you.
