Fat Loss 4 Idiots - Dropping Weight by Cutting Calories Incrementally

When you eat too much, you will gain weight. This is the most basic and common maxim when it comes to discussing the issue of obesity. But, what exactly happens to the body when you eat too much? Basically, you end up ingesting far more calories than you burn. As a result, the excess is stored as fat. That is why when you need to drop 10lbs, you need to cut out a ton of excess calories, right? Actually, you do not need to cut out a lot of calories at one time. You could always cut out a small amount of calories over an extended period of time. This will lead to the slow and a slow and incremental loss of fat. Such a plan should make perfect sense to people because it is the slow and incremental process of ingesting too many calories that leads to weight gain.

The Little Calories that Add Up

Let's say you end joy eating a piece of cake after dinner. It does not seem like much. After all, it is only one little piece of cake. And, besides, you don't even eat it every night. Is there really any harm here? Well, that little piece of cake actually can cause a lot of problems in the long run. This is because one "little piece of cake" might come with 400 calories. And "only" eating one piece 4 nights a week yield 1600 calories to your diet per week. That means within a one year period you are ingesting 80,000 useless calories! Now, imagine adding one can of soda a day to this diet. A can of soda contains about 100 calories mostly derived from sugar. 100 calories a day means 36,500 extra per year! So, that one cal of soda and four pieces of cake accumulates to 116,000 calories a year! Consider one pound of stored fat is 3600 calories, that "little bit" of junk food can deliver 32lbs of fat in a year. Yes, those little calories rapidly add up over time and present a major problem.

Cutting Out Calories

Simply eliminating the can of soda and the piece of cake will deliver noticeable weight loss over time. It is just a matter of simple math. If you cut out calories, you will lose weight. That is just how the human body works. Of course, it is best to develop an overall healthy diet. Just cutting out a little bit of junk food here and there is not exactly the design of a great diet. However, if you do cut out a few useless calories (or a lot of useless calories) you will discover your weight loss goals becoming far more attainable than you initially imagined.

Yes, it is tempting to reach for a snack when you are hungry. But, there will be long term consequences to such eating habits. That is why it is best to curtail such habits. If not, you will never be able to be free of the curse of obesity.
